Fashion Tip Thursday: Nude Shoes
I am so excited to begin sharing with you a WEEKLY fashion tip!!! These tips will range from color matching to fabric cleaning tips!! This week I am going to share a super practical tip for anyone attempting to finish off an outfit…
Buy nude (neutral) shoes!!!
It used to be the consensus that if you were going to wear nude shoes, that you wanted them to match your skin tone creating the appearance of an elongated leg. Now, anything goes! Regardless of your skin tone, if it is a nude WEAR IT!
Nude shoes are the perfect way to pull any look together. Think gladiator sandals in the summer, ballet flats for all seasons, and pumps for special occasions ( or just because). Let’s get real…pumps are fabulous but probably not something you would wear every day. I have a go-to pair of heels, flats, wedges, boots, and sandals all in varying shades of nude.
My favorite nude flats and nude wedges definitely don’t match my skin…because ghostly white really isn’t a popular design color…but I still love how they complete my outfits.
I purchased my flats from Tieks by Gavrieli this year and my wedges from Comptoir Des Cotonniers while touring Paris, France in 2012. Both are extremely well-made shoes and I have been happy with both purchases.
Best of all? They are super easy to grab and throw on with any outfit. It takes the thinking out of getting dressed. I have an extensive shoe collection – about 150 pairs (shhh….don’t tell my husband) – and I LOVE color and wearing shoes with color, but as a Mom I go for practical more often than not.
